Supporting the Well-being and Resilience of the Malayalee Community
Introduction
The KCWA TRUST Community Well-being and Resilience Project supports vulnerable and hard-to-reach members of the Malayalee community, particularly women and the elderly, who are impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.
With exciting events, cheering crowds, and a chance to win medals and awards, every child is a champion! Let’s encourage our young stars to participate, stay active, and create unforgettable memories together.
About the Project
The Malayalee community in the UK represents a distinct linguistic and cultural minority within the wider South Asian population. Many elderly and women face barriers including language, isolation and limited access to services.
This project was developed through consultations from several community members and addresses priority needs identified by the community: health, financial resilience and cultural connection.
Health & Well-being Workshops
We deliver health and well being sessions covering mental health awareness, nutrition, lifestyle and preventive health. These sessions support community members to improve their health knowledge and confidence.
