She started learning dance (Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam and Kuchippudi) at a very early age under the guidance of Kalamandalam Premalatha, Palakkad and continued exploring the art form under the tutelage of Dr Joy Krishnan, Trivandrum. Started stage performances at the age of 8 and won several prizes in youth festival competitions. Got additional training in Mohiniyattam under the guidance of Kalamandalam Leelamma and Kalamandalam Hymavathy at Kerala Kalamandalam, Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur. Had opportunities to be in the judgement panel of several youth festival competitions. An experienced classical dance teacher who trained more than 100 students, organised and conducted various stage performances in renowned temples like Guruvayoor Temple, Sivagiri Mutt, Varkala, etc.
